Coli with Green Fluorescent Protein gene lab.  They are forcing E.Coli bacteria to take on the pGFP gene (naturally found in jellyfish) so that they will then glow fluorescent green much like some jellyfish do.  After the bacteria incubate overnight, hopefully we will have glowing green E.Coli bacteria!

Bleckley Police Department Visits Pre-K

Halloween is an exciting time for young children, but can also be dangerous if safety precautions aren’t taken.  Officers from Cochran Police Department visited Bleckley County Pre-K on Thursday, Oct. 30 to talk to students about Halloween safety.  Each class was visited by the officers and students had an opportunity to ask questions.  Every student received a bag to use for trick-or-treating.  Pre-K teachers followed-up with additional activities to reinforce what the officers taught.   We appreciate the Cochran Police Department’s support and efforts in helping our students learn the importance of Halloween safety.
