Congratulations to Miss Jenna Harvey, BCHS Teacher of the Year!



 FFA Members Compete at the National FFA Convention

Eight individuals recently represented the Bleckley County FFA by competing at the National FFA convention in Indianapolis, IN. Evan Thomas, Jacob Smith, Tucker Felkins, and Blake Bohannon placed fifth in the nation in the Environmental Natural Resources CDE.  Members Cale Floyd, Henry Richardson, Jeff Miller, and Adam Parker placed 13th in the nation in the Agricultural Technology and Mechanical Systems CDE.  The events were held at the Indianapolis Convention Center, Lucas Oil Stadium, and the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

Drawing over 65,000 FFA members from all over the United States of America, the convention had contests, nine general sessions, a trade show, and a career show. Also representing the Bleckley County FFA, John Austin Stewart and Tyler Brack were awarded the highest honor in the FFA, the American FFA Degree.

BCHS Beta Club Achieves School of Distinction Award

Recently the Beta Club at Bleckley County High School achieved the National Beta School of Distinction status.  Bob O. Bright, CEO of the National Beta Club sent a letter congratulating the school on the accomplishment.  This is the third year in a row that BCHS Beta has achieved this status.  Dr. Cindy Felkins and Ms. Jill Brack are the club sponsors.

National Beta is the nation’s largest independent, non-profit, educational youth organization.  Our mission statement reflects our commitment to recognizing and promoting high academic achievement, rewarding and nurturing worthy character, improving student leadership skills, and encouraging service to others.

Georgia Parent Survey

The Georgia Parent Survey data results are used to develop a school's Climate Star Rating which is used as a diagnostic tool within the College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) to determine if a school is on the right path to school improvement. This survey contains 24 questions. Parents may complete the survey using their personal computer, smartphones or tablet.  Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis.
